How I Work With Brands — And What My Viewers Can Expect

After nearly 30 years in the Navy, I built Directed T3CH around one thing: honest, practical content for makers and tech enthusiasts. Whether you're a company considering a partnership or a viewer who wants to understand how I operate, this page spells it all out.

Directed T3CH covers the tools and technologies that makers, hobbyists, and creators actually use — 3D printing, laser engraving, CNC woodworking, electronics, and related creative technologies. If your product fits that space, we're probably a good fit.

I regularly receive requests to review home furnishings, pet care products, clothing, and personal care items. I appreciate every inquiry, but I decline anything outside the tech and maker space — not because those products aren't great, but because my audience comes here for a specific kind of content and that's not changing.

No matter how a product ends up in my hands, my opinion stays mine. Sponsorship buys airtime — it does not buy a positive review. If something has a flaw, I'm going to say so. That's the deal I've made with my audience and I don't break it.

Three Ways to Work Together
Tier 1 Review Video — Product Only

You send me the product and cover shipping. I put it through its paces and publish an honest, dedicated video covering real-world performance, features, and my personal pros and cons. No script approval, no additional fee.

I don't typically share videos before they go live — that's just how I operate. On rare occasions, if there's a good reason to have that conversation, I'm open to it. Reach out and we can talk.

What you get A dedicated video, optimized title and thumbnail for visibility, and an affiliate or product link in the description.
What this costs you The product and shipping — nothing more.
Tier 2 Promoted Placement — Integrated Mention

Your product gets a clear, positive on-camera mention within a broader themed video — typically 20 to 30 seconds, plus a description link. This works best for products that complement a build or project I'm already covering. I write it in my own voice and maintain final edit.

What you get An on-camera mention, a description link, and a mention that feels natural rather than bolted on.
What this costs you The product, shipping, and a flat placement fee. Reach out to discuss pricing.
Tier 3 Sponsored Video — Full Sponsorship

Your company sponsors the video. I produce a 30–60 second custom commercial segment in my voice, you're credited as the sponsor in the first line of the YouTube description, and we can shape the broader video topic together — whether that's a project build, a comparison, or a how-to. I keep full independence on the main content; script approval applies to the ad segment only.

What you get A custom-produced segment, sponsor credit, and the ability to align the video topic with your goals.
What this costs you The product, shipping, and a sponsorship fee based on scope. Reach out to discuss pricing.

I follow FTC guidelines on sponsored content. Any video involving compensation — whether that's a free product, a placement fee, or a full sponsorship — will be disclosed verbally in the video and in the description. You'll always know what you're watching.
